Usually, people want to change their bad habits. The top 5 New Year’s resolutions are:

  1. quite smoking – is the most popular New Year’s resolution. Every year every second smoker promises himself he will quit smoking. Unfortunately, the fight with the habit lasts few days only. Till the next New Year.
  2. lose weight – go on a diet, go to the gym, eat healthier food, eat more vegetables, avoid junk food… We know it all!
  3. improve finances – save money, be more responsible when spending money, pay off debts…
  4. enjoy life more – reduce stress, sleep more, spend more time on hobbies, be more assertive…
  5. improve career or education – get a better job, be promoted, get a better education, learn a new language etc.

Even though the studies show that a half of the New Year’s resolutionners feel confident, only 12% achieve their goal.

What is the New Year’s resolution all about?

Honestly, it doesn’t matter if you truly achieve your goal. More important is to be willing to change your life, to try doing it and have a vision of a better “me”. Every New Year is a beginning of a new period in your life, new 356 days of another year. Some believe that whatever you do on the very first day of a new year, will mark your whole upcoming year. If you believe in it, make sure you prepare yourself for that day: avoid bad habits, do only good things, be nice and polite, rest and spend time with family and friends. And of course, make a New Year’s resolution!
